Short Form is a style of improv comedy that’s easy to learn, fun to watch, and hard to master. Short Form consists of various predetermined game and scene structures. Short Form is often used in live performances and on shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway, and it provides an excellent vehicle for children to explore their emotions and creativity while learning to stay within the rules of each game.
Short Form Brainstorm strives to provide low-cost workshops in the greater Phoenixville area through “Short Form” improvisational comedy warm-ups, exercises, and games. We also provide workshops for adults in the corporate sector, at retreats, and in private wellness and public speaking events. Our mission statement at Short Form Brainstorm is to use improv to teach students to respond dynamically to changes, to learn to effectively problem- solve through active listening, to increase public speaking skills and self- confidence, and to engage respectfully with peers to build content. Our goal is to create a safe workshop space to build positive peer interactions and creative exploration. Workshops are taught by two members of Phoenixville’s improv comedy team, The Last Minute Replacements. SFB is not a part of LMR, but some members of LMR work on SFB events.
